Can a wallbox work together with my photovoltaic system?
Yes. In combination with our energy management system, surplus solar power is used specifically to charge your electric vehicle. The battery storage, PV system, and wallbox are intelligently coordinated to ensure that as much of your own electricity as possible is utilized.
Do I need a wallbox, or is a standard home outlet sufficient?
No, a standard household socket is usually unsuitable for continuous charging: It delivers very little power (often less than 2.3 kW), is subject to higher thermal stress, and poses safety risks. A wallbox, on the other hand, is designed for continuous operation, offers higher charging power (up to 22 kW), and is much safer to operate.
What charging power should my wallbox have?
It depends on several factors:
- the maximum charging rate of your vehicle,
- your domestic grid connection capacity,
- future-proofing (e.g., adding more EVs),
- and the amount of available solar energy.
Many households choose 11 kW (three-phase) as a viable balance between charging time and grid impact. Others select 22 kW (if permitted by the grid and system setup).
What are the total costs for a wallbox and installation?
Every installation site is unique—that is why our certified electrical installers evaluate the conditions on-site. During this assessment, they record existing connections, the distance to the distribution board, and the necessary cable length. Using this information, we provide you with comprehensive documentation and a personalized quote. This ensures complete transparency regarding technical feasibility and anticipated costs from day one.
Are there funding programs for private wallboxes?
Currently, there are no longer any nationwide funding programs for private wallboxes (as of spring 2026). However, some individual cities or municipalities still offer regional subsidies.
Important: Funding conditions change regularly and, as a rule, must be applied for before purchase or installation. We provide transparent information about potential regional programs and will check together with you whether your project is eligible for funding.
